6th Grade Science Camp

6th Grade Science Camp
1/8/2019 1/11/2019

Students Depart at approx 8:30 am on Monday, January 7th. Estimated Return Time on Friday, January 11th is around 12:30 pm.

Please remember to pack waterproof clothing items if possible, as well as extra socks and gloves, which tend to get wet more quickly. LABEL every clothing item your child brings to camp with his or her name if you want it to return home! You’d be surprised how many look alike items are brought to camp. Also, make sure your child is familiar with their own belongings.

Two pieces of luggage is the maximum per child (one suitcase/duffel bag and one sleeping bag). Since the luggage is handed/tossed on and off the bus, please double bag the sleeping bags in large trash bags, also clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name and Woodsboro.

Speaking of luggage, when you bring your child to school on Tuesday, please leave the luggage on the grass under the trees near the front of the school. Please DO NOT PARK along the curb to drop off....this will negatively impact the valet drop off for the rest of the school. Your child should proceed into the lunch area at which time he or she will enter the MPR to have his/her temperature taken (students only). If you are available to hang around for a little while on Tuesday morning, we would appreciate your help to load the luggage on the bus once it arrives, around 8:30. Assistance will also be appreciated when we arrive home on Friday, usually between 12:30-1:00, in the bus zone in front of the campus.

Any medications that have not been turned in yet need to be dropped off in the school office Monday morning so that Mrs. Grimsley can reconcile the physician orders with the actual medications, and prepare the meds for transport.

If your child was ill over the break and now needs medication, prescription or over the counter, please email me immediately (mgrimsley@pylusd.org) so that I can send you a medication form to be completed by your child’s doctor ASAP. If your child is running a temperature or has been vomiting on Tuesday morning, he or she will not be allowed to travel with us to camp, but arrangements can be made for parent transport to camp the next day. The same health department rules apply to camp as they do for school attendance: 24 hours fever and vomit free. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
